I think in terms of working in a creative field, I foresee podcasts being a really relevant way to gain a following. Collaborating with other creatives works well for exposure and for continuous learning. I think conversation in a creative field is key to seeing new perspectives, learning new information, and allows you to make connections to people with more specialized skills.

I also think GoogleMaps is gaining more relevance than Yelp, it's a central hub for directions, ratings, and business links. I think focusing attention into a complete GoogleMaps profile will bring more results for a business.

While browsing templates, I struggled to find one that spoke to me. I made a list and prioritized the things I wanted. I wanted a clean design and I wanted the colors to speak to me. To help me decide what colors to use, I decided to go through my photos for inspiration. I found a photo I took and created a color story from the photo. I pulled dark greens form the greenhouse, light grays from the gravel, and used a shade of brown for highlight. Throughout my blog I used a few variations of greens to try and provide a little depth. Next, to help create a clean design, I decided to focus on the font. I wanted all my fonts to reflect the same style with slight variation to highlight levels of importance. Week 2 Part 1

I believe when it comes to personal and business every social media platform has useful tools for different needs. Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook all have features that allow consumers to reach the businesses  Regarding personal use, I think all social media platforms are made to be used for personal use and all platforms focuses on a different aspect of life for people to share. I want to consider what platform is geared better towards person use in terms of businesses and consumers. I believe twitter is the most satisfactory way for consumers to be heard and considered by businesses. Twitter allows consumers to start a dialogue directly with businesses and is the best platform to expect a response. Personally, I believe Instagram is a good platform for individuals to post to business in hopes of a 'like' or a 'shoutout'; however, in terms of being a platform for problem solving, Instagram doesn't fulfill that requirement. I used to run a childcare center and I remember going to a conference for childcare employees and the whole conference started off with the idea of story telling. We are story telling people and we understand lessons and ideas through stories. So the best way to connect to an audience is through storytelling. Likeable Social Media pointed out that formerly very expensive, story telling is now relatively free. Storytelling is a powerful way to allow customers to feel a strong emotional connection with your company. A personal story can be captivating and get people to listen to what a company has to say. By focusing on the brand, the customer, and the employee, a business can always have a story to tell. A personal touch and story in a blogpost may not always be the best route to take though.
